Help connecting two AT-09 Modules

Hey guys, I have a project in which I need to connect one of the AT-09 modules to an ESP and the other to a PLC. Now I'm at a point where I can connect both of them to a serial port on my computer, send commands to configure them and connect them to eachother. However, once they are connected, instead of what I send in one serial port being sent to the other, I get no response. Anyone knows what may be the reason for that?
