I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to interface with my existing sprinkler controller. Yesterday I put together a Esp8266 and a bank of relays - and got it working well with my MQTT server...
I attached a few pictures of the existing controller. its a 24vac system with a bus that you screw the sprinkler valves to... I cant seem to figure out if I should connect the relay to the COM and sprinkler pin or 24VAC and the sprinkler pin. There are two 24VAC terminals, one seems to be on all the time and the other doesn't. Im going to need guidance on the correct way to troubleshoot this as well. I would like to "add" my controller to this one and leave its functionality intact if possible.
The small black wire, coming from the bottom on the left is power to the controller and the rest of the wires come from the valves outside. Does anyone have any experience with this? Also with this low voltage system can I leave the VCC jumper on the relay pack? Seems to be working well powered off the 3v from the esp8266...
