Help Finding a Part

I'm trying to build this project in a electronics book, but they are calling for a 3M Ohm Crystal Earpiece. Its supposed to be ESR Electronic Components 203-004.

That is a UK-based company. They have no search feature on their website www.esr.co.uk (at least that I can find), so I can't find the component, and I don't even know if they would ship to the United States.

I've searched Google for that part number but it doesn't come up with anything. I contacted the company but never heard anything back.

Does anyone know where I can get this part, or one that does the exact same thing?

I posted a picture of the part below.

Based on the picture, I'm assuming that this "earpiece" works as both a speaker and microphone.

I think you're looking for this

Takes me back to when I used to use them in making crystal sets - that's radios that don't need a power source to work for the youngsters.

So I found something from the search, but the part appears to be different, these don't look like 3M Ohm. I don't know if that will make any difference.

Oh, come now Mike, how are you going to run the DAB DSP? :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Well you tap off power from the Drotwitch Transmitter Station, rectify and smooth, then feed into the DAB decoder.

How about this?

It's amazing, isn't it, how the design of those hasn't changed in the last 40 + years?
My older brother had a Phillips electronics set, and the earpiece was identical, c. 1968.
