Help for a new user

I recently bought an arduino duenmilnove as something to play with / learn the language of.
The first thing i did of course was make one of those flashy LED cubes using some code from instructables and i have now set about playing with writing my own simple codes to learn the language.
The problem i have come across whilst writing a digital fade in fade out led on pin 13 (just for funsies) was i have no idea how to make a loop only loop for 5 times or so was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction.

Also if anyone knows of any good projects to get me started that would be great!

Try a 'for' loop

for( byte i=0; i<5; i++ )
{
do something;
}

You should probably look up a C tutorial page.

The K&R book is also a great start for people new to C.
