Help for Humanoid Robot Project

Hello, my name is David and I'm thinking in make an humanoid robot. I have searched information such as sensors it will need, mechanic parts and others. The humanoid I want to make is like this one:http://www.lynxmotion.com/images/jpg/ironmanl.jpg
After searching and comparing different sensors and mechanics I opted for the following:

1 x Lynxmotion Humanoid Biped Torso - A (no servos) BT-01:

1 x Lynxmotion Black Aluminum Robot Feet (Pair) ARF-01:

1 x HS-422 Servo Motor (For the Head)

1 x ADXL335 3-Axis Accelerometer Module:

10 x HS-430BH Servo Motor (For Legs)

8 x Lynxmotion Aluminum Multi-Purpose Servo Bracket ASB-24 (Pair):

1 x 2cm - 10cm Infrared Distance Sensor (For Detect obstacles on the feet):
http://www.robotshop.com/eu/en/2cm-10cm-infrared-distance-sensor.html

1 x Arduino Prototyping Shield Kit for Arduino MEGA (To power the servos and the sensors in the shield)

1 x Arduino Mega 2560 Microcontroller Rev3

1 x Sharp GP2Y0A21YK0F IR Range Sensor - 10cm to 80cm(the head):
http://www.robotshop.com/eu/en/sharp-gp2y0a21yk0f-ir-range-sensor.html

1 x SIRC-01 Sharp GP2 IR Sensor Cable - 8" (Head's Wire)

1 x DFRobot Assorted Jumper Wires Premium M / F Pack of 65:

1 x Break Away Headers - Straight:

1 x Dagu Battery Holder - 4 x AAA
http://www.robotshop.com/eu/en/dagu-battery-holder-4-aaa.html

1 x 9V to 2.1mm Barrel Jack
http://www.robotshop.com/eu/en/9v-2-1mm-barrel-jack.html

I chose the Arduino mega to be able to make other projects in future and because it provides 15pwm.
So the "problem" is this, this project will cost: €385.95(without IVA) €467.00(with IVA). I know that this hobby is not cheap, but I'm not very sure if I can choose any other mechanic parts or anything to make the project cheaper. Also this project will NOT have arms, and I saw this robot : http://www.robotshop.com/eu/en/rq-huno-robotic-humanoid-kit.html that will cost me similar and it HAVE arms (important for an humanoid haha).
So I want to ask for your advice.

Sorry for so many urls.

I suggest you get the mega and the sensors and get those working before purchasing the robot parts.

So you think is better to build it than buy it with "all the job" done?

If you can't figure out how to make all the sensors perform well, you might wind up owning a very expensive doll. Do the difficult inexpensive part first, then spend the big cash.

Well I think I can figure out how to do it, I worked with similar sensors before, but well, I will take your advice.
Thanks!

You may want to see if you can make any of these parts your self. You will definitely have to dish out the money for the servos, but could you make some of those brackets and wire connectors? I see a few things in your list that you could probably find in an old printer.

I haven't got experience by making parts by myself, maybe I could make the parts in a "self-manufacturing shop" that is in my city with a 3d printer or a milling machine, but all this suposse to make al the parts in autocad or solidworks isn't it? (I have experience working with autocad). Instead of making that, do you know about other bracket brand for standard servos cheaper than lynxmotion? Wire conectors are not a problem. I really appreciate your help!
