help for interfacing thermmocouple with arduino

Goodday!
I am a new member of this forum, and at the same the a beginner in making electronics project. I am a 5th year college student and i wanted to ask help from you guys. I am currently working on my thesis.

We wanted to design a wireless temperature logger usng a thermocouple, arduino and zigbee. What i dont undesratnd is that, how am i gonna connect the thermocouple to the arduino. Based on the forums i'v read, i have to use max6675, and then, after that, what would be the next step?

hoping for a reply, your answers would be a very big help. Thanks in advance!

There is a library for it : http://playground.arduino.cc/Main/MAX6675Library

But you can also use the Adafruit library.
They have a great tutorial.

I think the MAX6675 is a 3.3V chip, so you have to be careful, or use a breakout board that makes it compatible with a 5V arduino.

i just really dont know how and where to start..

In that case, an electronic design project was probably not a good choice for your thesis project and you should review your choice with your tutor. For a thesis project you should expect to only get credit for the work that you do for yourself, and if you don't know how to do the project yourself then you're going to find it very difficult to earn any credit.
