Many come asking for advice and ignore or refuse to believe that someone else may know better than their mates or what they have read in instructibles.

Typical response from the new guys.
That should have been the end of it.

The picture step is where the OP finally posts the actual code/schematic whether on page 1 or page >= 5.
We usually don't quit then while there's still hope.
The next steps are where helpers try to break the death-grip on the actual problem and the all-too-often result.
What can I say, just venting some frustration here. Bartender, a double Dimple please!
Scotch whiskey is pretty harsh to our delicate American palates, and the dimpled bottles are kinda large for our #tinyhands. I prefer Kentucky bourbon, particularly Austin Nichols' Wild Turkey 101. After dealing with the clueless all day, it helps to soothe the nerves well, and encourages that all-important beauty sleep.
Recently, after an OP had eventually found a (predictable) solution I suggested that if he had described the project in the original post he might have got the answer immediately. The response was great
My project had nothing to do with the question....

I wonder why posters seem unwilling to post full details of their project.
Fear of ridicule ? or being told it is impossible.
Possibly they do not want to give their invention away but i have yet to see a successful commercial product get developed on this forum.

PS if travis is around I need the name of a good med...
You could take a vacation in Colorado before it gets shut down. It's safer than a LOT of other stuff.
Elsewhere, have you ever tried Pinch? Drank neat it really is smooooth. Not cheap but that first sip for me finished half a pint before I put the bottle down... that was 1979.
@Travis: try SC with peppermint schnapps, the drink is called a snowshoe but don't be fooled and go trying to walk over any drifts... you still get drifts up there? It definitely gives a warm fuzzy feeling.
BTW, you ever been to North Pond (he-he)?
