I am not familiar with this particular Neo 6M GPS module and want to make sure of the pinout on the chip as well as the additional ground pin off to the side side of the chip before I attempt to use it. I have used the smaller red Neo 6M module with PPS, RXD, TXD, GND, and VCC as its pinout all 5 pins right in a row. This one seems strange as there is no "normal" labeling on the pins and the ground pin off on the side. Is anyone familiar with these? How do I wire this up? Thanks in advance!
i can see the Vcc pin ( the one with square pad ) , as it's track goes through a fuse F1, from fuse to anti reverse polarity diode ES2DA
the third pin is Gnd, as you can see it's pad is netted to a Ground plane
you can cross check this with a continuity test
The pinout diagram of the 6M is public and might help.
See pages 12 & 13 of this doc:
If you're confident of the VCC & gnd pins, the TX & RX pins shud be easy to sort out without risk. They seem to be pins 20 & 21.
John.
Thank you for the replies. I did confirm the 3rd pin (starting from square VCC pin) is connected to ground. I should be able to get this up and going. Thank you both!
