Help interfacing Nokia 3310 woth my Arduino

hi

I want to interface my nokia 3310 with Arduino, i have read on forums that i need to send 'U' 128 times to do that, but i am still unable to establish the connection.

How is the Nokia 3310 connected to the Arduino?

I have taken two wires directly out of the FBUS RX and TX terminals of nokia 3310 and connected it to my Arduinos TX and RX respectively.

No ground connection?

yes there is a ground connection, sorry forgot to mention it ..
