help, lcd 2x16 spectrum analyzer

i try use sketch from 16×2 LCD Spectrum Analyzer Plugin for Winamp | Tools & Technologies From Hasaranga but it only display 2 col, and use lcd smartie but strange char appear

  1. What 16x2 display is that, pls post a picture showing the display connected to the Arduino
  2. Did you start with the simple "Hello World" sketch to make sure it works at all?
  3. pls post the whole sketch in code tags </>

I played with lcd smartie in the past. As far as I remember, after power up there is a garbage in the LCD CGRAM. You have to manually create custom chars to make it work.
