Help me pick a radar sensor!

What radar sensors can detect stationary objects, and get the distance measurement to the stationary object in front? As of now I'm stuck between the HLK-LD2410 and the HLK-LD2420, also the measuring distance should be lower than 30 or 20cm.

The resolution for both devices is +/- 0.35m. So you won't be able to measure any distance of less than 0.35m and even for greater distances the measurement accuracy is only +/-0.35m
So neither would be useful

Thank you for your info, but do you know any radar sensors that could at least give me a stationary distance reading of less than 50cm or 40cm? and what are your thoughts on the LD2412 radar sensor, is it a good choice?

First you asked for 20 or 30cm. Which is it?
What kind of accuracy do you need?

what are your thoughts on the LD2412 radar sensor, is it a good choice?

Answer my questions and I will let you know.

Hi! welcome to the Forum.

I believe it would be interesting if you tell us what exactly you're trying to do. The 2 sensors mentioned in post #1 are meant to detect people and mainly moving, not stationary objects.

I need a radar sensor that can detect stationary objects from a distance from at least 30cm, but since you mentioned that the resolution of the sensors i mentioned earlier are only 0.35m I thought i could work around with maybe 30 to 50cm, what i need is a radar sensor to detect objects which aren't moving!

Hi! I'm trying to make a surveillance system

All three sensors you mention only have a resolution of 0.75m
You did not answer my question about accuracy so I'll assume that is good enough and you can use any of the three detectors.

Oh yes! the accuracy should be around 30cm to 50cm, but also what i want to know is whether those sensors can detect objects which are stationary, that doesn't have any movement.

Then any of the three will work. They only seem to really differ in coverage area.

What if there are two or three stationary objects in front? How will your detector know this or do you care/

since this is only a prototype I'll ignore that for the moment.

Ok. How will your project know the object is actually stationary? Over what time period?

I want some radar sensors that can detect stationary objects, because certain sensors need some sort of movement to see whether there is an object in front.

Oh, so a non-Doppler radar sensor.

yes!!

The search phrase "radar distance sensor" turns up possibilities, like this first hit:

yes, but I'm only making a prototype, so i was looking for some cheaper alternatives, like the sensors from the HLK family.

but can they detect stationary objects that have no movement at all?

Yes.
Any radar that has FMCW capability can detect stationary objects and all three have it
