Hello everyone and thank you in advance for your time.
So last night i looked at the main board of an 2006 HP copier, and to my surprise i found a A3967 Microstepper Driver on there (i have the original stepper that came with it), it seems to have no need for a darlington array to drive the stepper, so i looked it up and from the data sheet info it seems that it would be an easy hack, but i wanted to make sure since it has many pins with various functions like, SLEEP, RESET, ENABLE.
My questions for you are, how should i aproach this hack? i tried to use it with an ESP8266 (not from PWM pins, also its all i have in hand) running a basic loop with steps and direction (as it suggests in the datasheet, it should be that easy). But there are just too many factors while its on that main board. I did not touch anything from the main board it was on, the driver is getting 3V into VCC logic supply and all seems good, and that was the main reason i did not touch it. My next idea was to cut the traces from some pins like those mentioned above with the functions that MAY or may NOT be making me a hustle, and control them from the arduino.
