HELP NEEDED WITH powering circuit

Hi, i have this code and have it working 100% what im struggling with now is the power needed to use the motors etc. I will paste in the circuit diagram and the battery that i use but i cannot seem to get it working without having a micro usb and dc power supply at the same time. Everytime i fully charge the 6v 2400mah battery and connect it up ive voltage tested it and the power is in the 0.026 v etc but when out of the circuit it reads a steady 6v. Any help in powering this circuit would be greatly appreciated as its the last hurdle i need to get over to finish this uni project.

Heres a better circuit diagram with more of the components labelled

Does the battery work with different circuits? Does the circuit work with a different battery?
If the battery works in other places and the circuit fails with other batteries, we know that it is a circuit problem. If the circuit works with another battery but the battery fails in other circuits, we know it is a battery malfunction.

Just ran the battery with an arduino uno with lcd display and constant running motor and it worked perfectly

but with the esp32cam and step ups and the l293 motor driver chip it dosnt work for some reason but works when its on life support ?

do you know if the circuit works with a different battery? Or do you not have one to test?

no unfortunatly not. i had purhcased the battery ages ago whilst i was still working on the code and once i got it running with life support i began to attempt to power it via just the battery but couldnt do it with the battery that i had for some reason. Not sure if its an issue with the battery or the way in which the cirucit is designed

would getting a 4x AA battery holder be better? Ive read that sometimes the batterys that i used wont supply enough current? Im not an electrical genius and struggle with the concept of batterys and power needed for specific things but would you suggest that could be better?

Neither am I  but you can try that. (Sorry for late reply)
