Hello fellas!
So yeah, I'm officially started on my first arduino project - temperature sensor network.
I'll be using TMP104 from Texas Instrument, TMP104 uses so called SMAART interface ( more info: TMP104 data sheet, product information and support | TI.com ), and it seems rather easy to implement physically, and not that difficult either software-wise.
But as this is my first project, I am a bit lost how to get started.
The first and foremost question of mine is how to implement this SMAART protocol. is there already a SMAART library written? As I've done a search on the forum, I can't find anything related, but maybe there's something else that's similar to this can be easily modified ?
Thanks a lot !! Looking forward to some help!
You call a wafer-scale BGA package that looks to be about 1mm square "easy to implement physically"? ![]()

I might consider the Maxim Integrated temperature sensors (e.g. DS18B20), there is good support for the Maxim/Dallas one-wire protocol. Another option is any number of I2C temperature sensors. Not knowing whether this sensor network is a board-level network or something covering square miles, it's difficult to make specific recommendations.
