Help picking a pwm chip

First let me start off w/ my basic idea.
3 major parts

  1. Main controle box
    -usb powered
    -arduino board

  2. led/power box

  • main psu
  • pwm chip
  • 16-32 channels
  1. led light bar
  • 300mA

Im looking to have a main control box that can control several led boxes. Each led box would have an independent power supply.

I saw the TLC5940 but is limited to 120mA per channel.

Any suggestions on a PWN chip to use? Im looking for at lest 8 channels so that I can keep wiring between the boxes to a minimal.

You can parallel up the outputs of the TLC5940 to give you more current.
Even over 1A if you parallel them all.

There is an application note that describes this. Just google for SLVA253 or go to the application notes on the TI web site.
