hi...am going to make two robots which communicate with each other using RF and arudino.. but am searching for a good application..most people suggest me to do a job of lifting an object..but cud i get a few more better suggestions??
OP said he wanted to make two robots communicate. I'm wondering what OP's purpose is in doing this. It is an interesting challenge, but a costly one. Without a purpose in mind, I couldn't justify the expense.
I wasn't (intentionally) being grumpy. Grumpy_Mike has that covered. I figured OP could tell us something about his/her motivation. That might lead to more useful/creative/interesting/rewarding suggestions.
There seems to be big challenge in that area... Every Indian college wants its students to do something out of the box every year... now there are around 4,00,000 engineering students with about 70% majoring in electronics.. that would require them to produce around 70,000 new projects every year taken into consideration they do it as a team of 4... oops! lol... hypocrites!
Badri, nothing against you... just that i hate the bloody project system!
Can you say more about your motivation. What to do depends on your primary goals, perhaps: learning programming, building toys for your kids, getting a good grade or whatever.
actually i got inspired by my cousin's house cleaning robot..wat i initially thought of is why not have more robots for cleaning.so tat one robot says to another i wil clean kitchen u clean bedroom and so tat the whole work is finished in a short time...i thought of doing this as my final year project..but my staffs don want me to do this without any reason. thatz why am searching for a good new application..
There are many things that use RF to communicate. Just think of some of the things that use RF signals to communicate. Just use some the current applications of RF to build your own project.
You could create a system that monitors the status of objects in your house, like freezer temperature, or power consumption, and log it on your computer.
How important is it to you (or your tutor) that the result will have some practical application in a household? Or that it involves two robots? Or uses RF?
Will the 2 robots know where the other one is at? (I would assume so, if they are lifting something together).
One could sense when someone is coming up the walk, and then the other would ring the doorbell.
There's examples of an Arduino doing an etch-a-sketch. Instead of having 1 Arduino controlling both motors, you could have 2 Arduinos controlling 1 motor each.
Or download the picture to one Arduino/etch-a-sketch, and the picture is drawn by the original, and a second one radio controlled by the first.
I think the TeleMate puts a picture on a tv with an Arduino. You could make a simple display where a ball bounces from one tv to another. Or better yet, a game of Pong, where each player holds his own Arduino.
You could make a race timer. One Arduino at the starting line, that senses when the runner crosses the start line, and another at the finish line, that senses when the runner crosses the finish line. Then display time elapsed on both.
You could make dancing robots, that dance with each other rather than by themselves.
You could connect 2 computers together thru the Arduinos. It should be pretty simple to make what's typed in one Serial Monitor appear on the other and vice-versa. You could transfer files as well, which would be more work/impressive.
That would be cool. Or, install a walkie talkie into a robot face, and make the mouth movable, so it can open when higher volume is sensed, and it can smile or frown. Super walkie talkie!
