This circuit has been constructed to allow for a solanoid to function. The wires that go out of the photo are each connected to the correct pins. can someone tell me where in this circuit I have gone wrong? i have used these parts before to test the function of a solenoid valve. The valve seems to open but does not close until I remove it from the circuit.
thanks!!!
Please supply a schematic, using either pen and paper or a CAD program.
Include all component details.

Hello Patrick,
What I can see in the image looks OK.
What I can't tell from the image:
I can't tell for sure which pins of the transistor the various wires go to, it's not clear.
I don't know what the transistor is, I don't even know if it's BJT or MOSFET.
As I don't know what the transistor is I can't check the wiring against the data sheet.
I cannot tell if the wires going off the side of the image are, as you claim, connected to the correct pins.
As Iamfof says, we need a schematic.
Okay, thanks a lot! I know that both the diode and the MOSFET transistor are both compatible and I have used these to open and close the solenoid in the past. I am going to have another shot at fixing the issue and if anything goes wrong once again I will compose a message again. I appreciate it a lot! thanks a lot!

You mean to say you will add to this thread.
You do not want to post a second thread for the same problem. It wastes your time and ours as either you reiterate all the previous details - and that means all - or you simply add new details and expect people to figure out the background. The first wastes your time, the second wastes ours.
