I had never seen a "Black" 0.96 inch board before.
My GC9106 boards look exactly the same as the "Blue 0.96" in your link.
And I can't see any difference in pcb tracks, components, printing, ... between the Black 0.96 and the Blue 0.96.
I will put a library on GitHub probably later today.
I will include a diagnostic sketch that should detect whether the controller is GC9106 or ST7735S. Note that all makes of TFT controller are 3.3V.
I have never seen a TFT controller datasheet that specifies 5V tolerance. But in practice the Sitronics controllers appear to be 5V tolerant.
