keep sing references to people who have built small headphone amps, and mini guitar amps with a 741CN (even a youtube video that seems to have been deleted

any chance someone has come across one themselves, or has done a similar project with a 741 IC. :-/
The 741 is pretty old these days, and was never intended as a headphone amp in the first place. You'd be better off with something like an LM386 or one of the modern specialized amps.
that said, the 741 is just a "general purpose op amp" and you should get lots of search hits for "opamp headphone amplifier" that are probably adaptable.

Well I remember it coming out so I looked it up on Wikipedia Operational amplifier - Wikipedia and they say it was 1968
It was a good year but I suppose it is a long time ago now, it never used to be.
