Unfortunately you are out of luck. The sleep modes shut down the Wifi so your system will not be able to listen for commands while sleeping. You may also find it takes a lot of power to wake up and re-establish the connection to your router. All of the "run your esp8266 for a year on a single battery" tutorials involve a device that wakes up every few minutes, sends in a data point then goes back to sleep again without having to stay awake and listen.
However I would have thought that the main power draw is the motor so your batteries will rapidly run out anyway.
The complete guide to all the power-saving modes can be found at https://www.espressif.com/sites/default/files/9b-esp8266-low_power_solutions_en_0.pdf
