Help with cdd-11n sensor wirring

Hello,

i have bought laser sensor cdd-11n. I have connect it to 24V power supply. I want to connect its output to the arduino mega.
What is proper connection to arduino? What about arduino? I am a bit confused, because its hard to find clear explanation and explanation are different for different sensor types and different voltages....

Thanks in advance.
Matej

The link shows a sales site. Please get hold of a real datasheet.
Of corse different voltages and different kind of outputs call for different handling.

Sorry about link. It is not my intention to advertise or use any referral/affiliate links. Link location is clean. As hobbyist i buy a lot components on ebay/alliexpres... and there is usually no datasheets included under the items, just items description. If i paste here datasheet from one manufacturer its more likely that another manufacturer item has different specifications.

I understand but without datasheet it's impossible to tell. Only You can find out what f ex an output deliers. Sometimes voltage, sometimes it cab be an open collector output. All different.
If You don't know the item, don't buy it. Buy things being documented and buy from sellers that provide support.

HI, @matejhl

Google CDD-11N CDD-40N CDD-11P and bingo.
Diagram in top left corner of document and also on the sticker on your sensor will show you how to connect it.

Thanks.. Tom.. :+1: :coffee: :australia:

Hello TomGeorge,

thanks for your reply.

I have connect it as sticker show: sensor vcc and sensor mode on 24V, all GNDs together, sensor signal to Arduino input. I have set in code connected pin to INPUT_PULLUP.

It looks that the sensor works and Arduino reads values correctly.

I have noticed that since the sensor output it is connected to the Arduino, red light on sensor is always on and when the sensor detect the object in became a bit more brighter. Is that normal? Or i am missing something in my wiring?

Thanks,
Matej

Hi,
Is there a white wire?
Where have you connected it?

Hello,

yes, white wire i have connected to +vcc (24V) same as brown.
