Help with IDE port selection

Hey there, I recently purchased this D1 mini, and am having trouble getting it up and running. This is my first foray into the world of Arduino, so pardon my ignorance. After following some YouTube tutorials and installing CH340 drivers onto my Windows 11 PC, I'm unable to select a port in the tools tab of the IDE (1.8.19), it's just greyed out. I've reinstalled the drivers and restarted my PC. I've been trying for about an hour now, any help is appreciated!

What does device manager think of your board? Do you see it there, either as a USB-to-Serial device or as something with a yellow triangle?

MicroUSB cables come in two flavours, charge-only casbles and data cables. You need the latter; if you have a phone with a microUSB connector, try that cable that comes with the phone that also allows you to e.g. download pictures from your phone to the PC.

Swapped the cables and my computer made a happy noise! Tysm!
