Help witha Web Server Controlled Neopixel

Hi so I've been trying to do this for a while, I'm new to C++, I only know python and this has been a really long process. The code isn't all mine and most of it based of of examples as I don't know the syntax. My aim is to have a webserver that allows me to change between lighting functions. I don't understand why this code wont work, it might be obvious, I am new. Otherwise does anyone have any ideas to a different approach, been trying for weeks now to figure out how to do this.
Thanks,
Dylan

Delete the brace Noted.

Welcome to the forums. Nice job using code tags for your code and having your code formatted as well! That is usually the first hurdle for a new-comer.

As @runaway_pancake points out, you have one extra closing brace.

Also, all your case statements do NOT need to be enclosed inside opening/closing braces. It does not really impact your code, your each case statement is its own scope without them so they are not necessary.

As your code stands, you never set selectedEffect to anything other than 0 so not of your patterns will ever run.

You should also look into enumerations (e.g. enum { ... }) so your case number can be turned into something more human readable

enum { RGB_LOOP, FADE,  STROBE, ... };
int selecteState = XXX;
...
case RGB_LOOP: ...

case FADE: ...

Thanks Guys!!
