I'm afraid that I have fried the voltage regulator, I accidantaly inverted the polarity of the battery, so the arduino made the famus smoke, and from then when i try to power it from the Vin pin or from the jack it doesn't power up, but it still works from the usb port. So i can guess that the processor is not damaged right? Any way does someone know how can I fix it? or if there is another voltage regulator that I can use replacing the old one?
as far as I can see here
it is a LM2734Y
wow that's really small, I think that I wont be able to fix that
The Due should be protected against applying reverse voltage to the barrel jack - there's a diode there... Is your Due an official Due?
That said, I'd first verify that that's even the problem - is voltage even reaching that part? The power supply on the due is significantly more complicated than that of the Uno/Mega, so there are multiple points of failure that could cause the same symptom. It could be the comparator, for example - those really don't like being abused,
Eh, SOT-23 isn't that bad. Flux helps.
Getting the old one off without munging the PCB is probably harder than getting the new one on.

I'm a little bit confused now, because as I said when I power it via the usb cable it works, only the barrel jack and the Vin pin doesn't work. Wghere should I search the problem? on the LM2734 (whic is the tiny one with 6 pins)or on the sot-23 with 3 pin?
