Hibernate (or sleep) a Sparkfun Babysitter

Hi,
I´m doing a battery powered project including a Arduino MKR1310 and a Sparkfun Babysitter. Is there any way to put the BQ27441 fuel gauge on the Babysitter board in hibernate or sleep mode in order to save power? As far as I understand the BQ27441 chip has these modes implemented but It seems the provided Arduino library doesn´t manage these features.

Any hints how to enable sleep or hibernate and how to implement this in Arduino code would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Ps I´ve already posted on the Sparkfun forum with limited response success. Hence the try here
