High Density Power Connection Orientation

Hello All,

I currently have a Portenta H7 Lite and Portenta CAT.M1/NB IoT GNSS Shield and was wondering if the order that power comes in matters? Should the power pin (5V) or "VIN" go through the shield first or the Portenta first.

After doing some digging through the datasheets it seems like the pinouts match for both, the high density pin connectors are mirrored for both, and the portenta H7 is what is providing the 3.3V needed by the shield. However, it seemed like both only worked when power from our PCB fed the portenta H7 first then made its way through the high density connectors to the shield. I would think since it has through hole connectors on both the portenta and the shield and a mirrored high density connector that it wouldn't matter but it might not be the case.

Anything helps and I can provide more information from the datasheet if needed.

Thank you!

Just for clarification I am talking about power going through through hole connector pins on the side of the board or shield. Does 5V have to go through the portenta pins first or the shield pins first.
