High power AC control

Hi all. Does anyone know of a shield that will allow me to control a heavy (2kW) AC load ? Preferably, one that has the HV on a separate board. I want to use a power dump to regulate the AC voltage, with a fixed throttle setting. I have a generator which doesn’t, at present, have a governor. That will be the next project.

More details on the load, the AC, the voltage, frequency, 1 phase or 3 phase, what the
load actually is. A shield is unlikely for that high power.

Why are you mentioning a generator? Is that related to this question (ie you want
a shunt regulator for the (AC) generator? If so what is the nature of the variable load
that it is compensating for?
