I'm new with arduino and I'm trying to make project for my company using this platform. I will be measuring products on a fast moving conveyor for about 800 samples per minute. Is there a sensor for arduino that can trigger a signal at this speed to count the products? Before I've used ultrasonic but it can not compensate due to its slow response time.
Tell a bit more about these products you have on the band. Usually you would use light barriers to count such stuff. That would be fast enough by far.
Indeed, break beam sensors come to mind. Should work with just about any product.
I can't find light barriers or photo sensor for arduino, before i was using retro reflective sensor (24volts) incorporated in plc but my problem with that it is not that portable. I hope I can use arduino so I can move in in different places so I can measure the line speed of conveyor on a particular machine and able to perform line balancing on the other machines.

Really? Where have you been looking?
