Hi all. I don't know much about motors. I'm building a ball launcher for my dog, and would like to use a motor to pull the ball back like a sling shot. Which motor would have enough power to pull back hard?
A big one.
Certainly not a little one.
Or maybe a medium-sized one, with gearing.
No one knows - measure the force required, spec a motor and gearbox to do the job .
Google torque, power

No way to tell from the information you've given. Adjectives are of no use, numbers and units and sketch
of the mechanical layout are required. You are asking about power, but you probably actually mean torque.
Missing information:
force required
distance to pull back
minimum speed for pulling back
mechanism to convert rotation to pulling force - dimensions thereof.

Most ball tossing setups seem to be balls being put between two spinning wheels. That being said, have you searched using google and youtube to see if there are similar setups to what you want?
