High volts problem

Hello,
Can please anyone tell me why is my 5 volts pin on arduino giving off 7.24 volts? I am actually using a flight controller board. So any thing above 6 volts and below 4.8 damages the board. And the 3 volt pin is giving off 4.84?

We need more information on how it is connected. A drawing would help.

The second one is blurry but you can see that it is connected to 5 volts. I have just connected my multimeter straight away. It is 8. now.

Will a potentiometer help?

Never Mind it is fine my battery on the multi meter was low thats why the wrong reading. :smiley:
