"Higher Memory" options?

I've been recently experimenting with a bare bones ATmega328 since I am interested in minimizing the power consumption (~10 uA) during it's "sleep" time. However, the memory capacity of this awesome little guy (32k) is starting to become a limit for my sketches.

Purely out of curiosity... does anyone know of what higher memory options are out there, that could run in a configuration that would make it draw very little power when sleeping?

ATmega1284/644 is probably the next step up, or a Mega board with a 2560. AFAIK the sleep options are the same with them all.

Do you actually mean memory as in SRAM (where the 328 has 2KB) or flash (where the 328 has 32KB)?

Agreed the ATmega644 or 1284P are a good option to go a notch larger.

'1284P is my favorite chip

Yeah I reckon it's the best of the AVRs.

Are you using a JTAG debugger there or is that an AVRISP?

Rob

AVR ISP.
I don't have any JTAG tools. All the pins are there to connect one via breakout cable if desired.
I don't write any software so complex that JTAG debugging is needed.

Hi Rob, SirNickity & Crossroads

thank you for your great suggestions & links. I will definitely be looking at perhaps getting some of these in the near future. It looks like this would be the perfect "next size up" for my needs
