HighSide motor driver help?

Hi,
im looking to make a DC motor driver controller.
Right now i use VNH5019 motor driver carrier from pololu.
It works OK, but..... i want to buy my own, for several reasons....
I know VNH is fullbridge ect.....

Now what i am not 100% shure is

  • if i use motor driver like => High Side VN920-E - IC, DRIVER HIGH SIDE
  • can i drive the motor using PWM and this IC driver?
  • will motor BRAKE like on VNH ?

Yes

No.
The two wires of the motor must be shorted together to break. You can only do this with a H-bridge.

So in theory if somehow shorten the wires of the motor when i want to brake the motor will brake... SUPERB! :smiley:
