"Myriad" isn't a term too well understood here, so might be a good idea to provide a schematic. Also post the code.
My wild guess is some kind of current overload, but I really don't know. Are you sure the sound is from the board and not one of the myriad of devices connected?

On topic: It might be a resonating coil. I used to have the same problem with a product. After selecting another coil (other value) it stopped.
There is a coil on the arduino for the power supply. So whenever you have a power output that causes it to resonate, you'll hear a coil-mosquito.
