Hi. I have a question, does the set/reset degaussing function in this mag run automatically every time it is turned on, or do you have to implement it self ?

I cannot find a definitive answer for you. It states "The HMC5883 sensor includes automatic degaussing strap drivers, offset cancellation, and a 12-bit ADC that enables 1° to 2° compass heading accuracy. All I²C Mini Modules are designed to operate at 5VDC." I would assume you have to do nothing. Try and if you are getting a lot of drift I am probably wrong.
