Hi, I am a student doing my final year project based on the title above. My project used soil moisture sensor and dirty water sensor . The water is changed or pumped whenever soil is dry or water is dirty . The problem I have now is the sensor to detect dirty water. From my knowledge, either pH sensor or turbidity sensor are normally used to detect dirty water. I want to know which sensor can detect dirty water the best before I buy it.

Also if you have to ever replace your water in aquaponics you're doing something wrong. If you ever get "dirty water" in aquaponics you're doing something wrong. One of the key points of aquaponics is the very low water usage as you can keep on recycling the water, just add some now and then to compensate for evaporation through the leaves. The fish & biofilters are what keep your water clean.
