Homemade keypad?

Hi, first of all I am so sorry if this thread is missplaced.

Is it poissible to build a homemade keypad? I want to build a keypad like this one http://www.sparkfun.com/products/8653 but the size isn't right for my model and I want to use another buttons etc.

So, could I build myself a keypad using information from this site: http://www.arduino.cc/playground/Main/KeypadTutorial Best regards!

Hi! Thanks for your reply!

No nothing advanced at all, I need to build a very simple keypad, 123..890 # and * Press the button, release it, the pressed button (lets say 4) saves in a int variable.

Could you or someone else please redirect me to a schematic/site/anything that could help me with this? What do I have to buy? Buttons and hookwires? Sorry but I am very new to this.

A switch is anything that joins to conductors together, so yes little button will do.
