Hookup MaxBotix range finder?

Hi, I'm pretty new to electronics, but I got one of these MaxBotix rangers from sparkfun's free day and now I'm wanting to hook it up. I got pins soldered on the board and everything.. just wanting to make sure I don't mess it up..

The datasheet is at http://www.maxbotix.com/uploads/LV-MaxSonar-EZ0-Datasheet.pdf

My wondering is with the power supply. Is it safe to hook an Arduino's 5v output and ground to it for +5v and GND? Would that be too much current for it? I'm afraid of frying it... Also, I know that I will want to hook a PWM pin on the arduino to a PW pin... I'm just concerned about giving it too much power

The data sheet says it takes between 2.5 and 5.5 volts, so 5V should be just fine.

So your saying that amperage is nothing to worry about in most cases? I've always been confused about this...

Page 2 says that the sensor requires 3 mA at 5 volts. An Arduino can supply 20mA easily, so the sensor can be powered directly by the Arduino.
