Hot Glue anyone?

Hi there quick question!

So I am using battery contacts (you know like the things you find in remote controls?) to read the potential difference stored in a battery using a controller. Now the spring contact has to be held in one place at all time. What I did was solder the spring to a wire which will then go into a pin on the Arduino. All good till there, but since I have to keep it in one place I was thinking of hot gluing it into place.
Will that effect its ability to conduct the signal or would it work just fine?

I can't see a problem as long as it does not cover the part of the metal spring making contact with the battery.

cheers!

Hot glue is often used to add vibration resistance and/or strain relief on physical components (or wires) coming off a PCB. No problem.
