how can i call a https url with gsm shield

hi guys,
im having trouble because i want to send data from my arduino to my firebase database like this guy did it http://www.devacron.com/arduino-firebase/
ive setup the webserver so that if i call a url with theparameter temperature it will get stored in my firebase database.
the problem im having now is that i cant call the url through my arduino im currently using this code to make a call. the website is in https so ive set the port to 443

void loop()
{
Serial.println("Now in loop");
if (client.connect(server, port)) {
Serial.println("connected");
// Make a HTTP request:
client.print("GET ");
client.print(path);
client.print(10);
client.print("&hum=");
client.print(5);
client.print("&vel=");
client.print(16);
client.println(" HTTP/1.1");
client.print("Host: ");
client.println(server);
client.println("Connection: close");
client.println();
} else {
// if you didn't get a connection to the server:
Serial.println("connection failed");
}

any suggestions why it doesnt work?
can somebody please upload a simple example just to call a website https website ( it doesnt matter which one)

can somebody please upload a simple example just to call a website https website

The Arduino does not have enough memory to handle the encryption of the data that https requires.
