Maybe you should get som LEDs once in a while, power them to 1023 with analogWrite, and marvel at the glow. I've been doing it for weeks.
Maybe you should create a simple sketch that just loops from 0 to 1023 once, in setup(), and watch how many times your LEDs fade up, drop to 0, and fade up again.
