How do i connect to an Ethernet shield running the web server example?

How do i connect to an Ethernet shield running the web server example? also do i need to change anything in the example... (IP Addresses?) if so where do i find the IP address #?

Yes, you need to change the address of the Arduino’s Ethernet shield to be UNIQUE in YOUR local Lan.

You will find it in the top of the PDE file (sketch)

For example: Most HOME LAN/WAN Routers offer up 192.168.1.x as the network range… so picking 192.168.1.10 might be a good choice. You would then have your PC connect to that address with Internet Explorer on http://192.168.10 or the default 1.177 might be OK too… but you need to know how your local LAN works. (SO… figure out what network your PC is in)

Note: COMMA’s are used in the PDE file… not “.” periods.

Using the DEFAULT SAMPLE SKETCH:

#include <SPI.h>
#include <Ethernet.h>

// Enter a MAC address and IP address for your controller below.
// The IP address will be dependent on your local network:
byte mac[] = { 0xDE, 0xAD, 0xBE, 0xEF, 0xFE, 0xED };
byte ip[] = { 192,168,1, 177 };
