How do i make a Timer starts when a button is pressed

Hello,im starting in the arduino world and im kinda lost in this situation.
I wanna make a 60 sec timer that starts when i press the start button of my proyect, the idea is that when i press the start button, a signal is comanded from the arduino to a electronic circuit, now i want that comand the signal for 60 sec but i don´t know how to do it. Thanks for readme and all the comments are welcome.

if that's all you want to do, detect the input, invoke delay() for 60 second and do something at the end of the delay
