How do i send a CR without a LF?

Many years later, this still does not seem to be working.

Serial.println("Hello, Wo\rld!");

Should display as

ld!lo, Wo

instead of

Hello, Wo ld!

Is there any way to get the desired functionality of sending a separate CR to the Arduino serial monitor?

The Serial monitor does not support carriage return moving the print point to the start of the current line. Have you tried a terminal emulator such as PuTTY ?

Do not hijack. Thread split.

Why do you believe sending is the problem?

Sorry, but I mistakenly assumed Arduino's serial monitor should behave somewhat like a console window or any other terminal.

Thanks UKHeliBob, at least I now know I need to use a different serial monitor. PuTTY however, will not connect for some unknown reason, so I'll find others to try.

9 times in 10 when I use PuTTy, which isn't often, I forget to hit the Serial radio button and then forget to set the correct COMx value.
