How do you change the colors of the output window?

I know that dark themes are all the rage these days but the black background with dark maroon text is impossible to read for someone like with with some visual impairment. I'm kinda tired of copying and pasting it out to a different text editor just so I can read the text. Am I missing a setting in the IDE somewhere that allows me to just change the background to white?

Hi.
Under "File" in the top bar, you will find "Preferences" where you can select from a number of themes. I found the High Contrast (Theia) choice helped a lot.
Hope that helps you out.

Ken.

I've tried that: the 'preferences' tab shows only the default:

This is Arduino 1.8.19 .. is that the problem?

Hi, Wade.
That looks like the problem. I am using version 2.0.4, which offers 5 options.
I hope you find some colours you like - I feel your pain with the default scheme.

Ken.

Thanks Ken, man I have to have stared at that a 100 times I totally missed the options in there.
