How do you get to the FULL message board editor when replying to a thread.?

Moderators can delete this post after its answered, especially if the answer proved me to be simply failing to observe. Whenever I attempt to respond to a thread, I can either "quote" or do a "fast reply". Neither seems to take me to the same message editor I get when I START a thread, which means if I want to respond with a diagram or graphic, I'm limited to links to online content, that could expire and become useless.

Also, BTW... is there a way to "thank" those who're responses help me? I mean, is there a way to offer a "+1" to helpful posts, as you can on boards like StackExchange?

Hit "Reply" near the bottom of the page, between the last post and the Quick Reply box.

Yes, they are called Karma points and you can click "[add]" under the name of the forum member you wish to thank. You don't see this in "mobile" view, you must switch to "desktop" in your browser.

OK, that helps me get to the editor, and I appreciate that. But that editor still does not seem to have a feature allowing me to upload an image, making it very difficult to assist in answering a question where a diagram is best. I see the editor does have a button to "insert an image", but hitting that button only results in a box asking for the URL of the image. As I don't run a web server on my home machine, this would mean answering with a URL to a diagram or other info on the web, which someone could remove at any time. I seem to have read an similar concern by it the instructions on using the forum, asking poster's to provide actual images rather than links to transient online content.

That said, could I request the webmasters here consider offering a simple way to share an actual image, diagram, or other graphic?

(Out of Date) Guide: How to Insert Uploaded Images in a Post - Website and Forum - Arduino Forum

Holly Pixels in Peril Batman! LOL... I have to admit I stopped reading the thread after two pages, and realizing it went on for many more. My take away is, either store as an attachment, and then use the resulting URL with the posted message to go back and edit your first message. bit of a pin but do-able, and I can see why some just put their photos in a public webspace and link that way. had i read on to the final pages, I don't suppose I'd have found a secret new feature allowing a simply browse box to u/l an image from my own PC, right?

And, I guess this kind of proves that the folks on this forum, as helpful as they all are to the Arduino community, are not listened to by those that manage website coding upgrades. That's sad, but its life in the big web city I guess.

How do you get to the FULL message board editor

Click the "Preview" button.
In addition to showing you the preview, the new page will have all the editor options.
(alas, that does not include an easy "image upload." I guess when you're using pre-packaged forum software, you have to pick&choose, and "fixing things" might involve "breaking many other things." The LAST time the forum SW changed, there was chaos for quite a while.)

I have posted a simple guide for inserting images. It does not make the process any easier - just explains it succinctly (I hope).
