How each LED is controlled given that they are rgb?

See there is a 3D led cube consisting of such modules as in the figure. I do not understand how in this case they control each LED, considering that they are rgb. LED size smd 1616.

Nothing can be established from the pictures you posted. I do not understand how you thought anybody could answer your question by looking at those pics.

Why did you not post a link to the project pages or at least a link to the data sheet of the leds that are used?

^ That is how you post a link.

I agree, there is no clue on that page that explains how individual led control is achieved.

Perhaps they have developed an addressable rgb led, similar to ws2812 or apa102, but 1616 size instead of 5050.

So how do you think they control the LEDs?

Looking at the 5050 size ws2812, the led chips and control chip are much smaller than the overall package. Maybe it would be possible to make something similar in 1616 size.

I also thought so at first, but the LED of 1 mm in size seems to me that it is simply not possible to install something there.

SK6812 is 3.5 x 3.5 mm. That contains a control chip.

The leds in your cube are, I think, 1.6 x 1.6 mm. So about 25% size of sk6812.
