How long will xbee radios hold their settings after turned off

Hi,

I am using xbee modules in sleep cycles. However I have noticed that If i turned them off for a couple of days, the radios become unresponsive. Then I have to restore the settings in X-CTU. Do you know if this is normal? How long should the radio hold its AT settings?

Thank you,

Luis

How long should the radio hold its AT settings?

After months of not being used, mine still work when turned on. So, forever would be my answer.

Of course, I don't sleep mine, so, YMMV.

Hi,
Thanks for your answer!

Anybody else with similar experiences to sleeping nodes?

Thanks,

Luis

I wouldn't think that it's normal.

Surely the AT parameters are stored in EEPROM or flash memory. Retention should be somewhere between 20 and 200 years, depending on.

Hi!
Thank you for your message. I will keep testing it. Maybe I didn't wait long enough to allow for the Xbee to join the wireless network.
