The first step will be to figure out how to run the positioning motors in the passenger side mirror. Do you have the circuit diagram? How many wires to each motor? Is there any feedback mechanism?

Before attacking the motors, how do you control the mirror positions right now?
When there are physical switches, you can let an Arduino press the switches for you, using some hardware.
And yes, position feedback is a critical item. When your switches go directly to the motors, no feedback may be available, i.e. you won't know the current position of the mirror, and how long to run the motors in which direction. When a controller is already handling the mirror positioning, you have to figure out how to communicate with that controller (CAN bus?), i.e. how to make it move to the intended position, and how to get back the current positions.
