How to: 8x8 RG matrix?

I would like to interface a 8x8 leds matrix such as this one: http://www.oomlout.co.uk/8-x-8-bicolour-led-matrix-p-233.html

Firstly i checked the arduino tutorials and playground, as well as the forum. I saw a lot ofinformation, but i have the 75HC595 shift registers and not the max7221 or max7219.

When i saw something about how to wire the 74HC595 it is just only for monocrome or RGB matrixes... but not for RG. So i am a little bit lost about how o wire them to arduino duemilanove.

Any idea about how to wire a circuit to run this matrix by 74HC595?? Thanks!

If you have a circuit for RGB then just miss one part out and use an RG.

Yeah! it could be an option, but i don´t see the circuit... so i just only know that they use this shift register, but i don`'t know how anyway... Or the showed led matrix have different number of pins, or... in any case, i can´t apply it to my arduino and matrix....

Thanks!

In that case use this:- http://www.thebox.myzen.co.uk/Hardware/Econo_Monome.html

And have a common row feed but separate columns.

I will read carefully what you saw there and try to learn how to apply it to my matrix. Thanks again!
