How to change which browser is launched by IDE help?

It seems that Microsoft Edge browser cannot or will not open local HTML files by whatever invocation mechanism the IDE uses to display help files. And once you mistakenly choose to try opening with Edge, there is apparently no way to get the IDE to reconsider the choice of browser - at least, not in the preferences settings or file.

I think this is, in effect, an IDE bug. Can someone please advise where this setting is stored, so the IDE is persuaded to use Chrome or some other browser?

Thanks

The browser preference is in Windows and you should select the DEFAULT browser there.

Without seeing the sketch it is difficult to assess what you are using and how you are calling the browser.

Simply go to DEFAULT PROGRAMS option in control panel and select the browser you want to use.

I have a similar question.

I'm running the IDE under Linux. The first time I selected "Visit Aurduno.cc" from the help menu, I got a pop-up asking me to choose my default browser. I selected Chromium from the drop-down list. I then got an error message saying

"Failed to execute default Web Browser.
Failed to execute default Web Browser." (Screenhot attached)

How do I find which browser is the default browser and how can I set it to Chromium?
